Lenore Bullock Lenore Bullock (McGlynn) started dancing (in Australia) at age 9 and quickly moved through the Royal Academy of Dancing's syllabus, passing all exams to reach Advanced Level. She also competed successfully in Eisteddfods and Talent Competitions throughout N.S.W. In 1976 she started the Lenore McGlynn Dance Studio in N.S.W. The school operated for 13 years, with students successfully passing all R.A.D exams up to (and including) Elementary Level. Within 13 years the school grew to around 300 students. Some of those students proceeded to join the Australian Ballet School, the Australian Ballet Company, Dance Troupes in Korea, Japan and U.S.A including working at Disneyland. After a break as a Flight Attendant, and then to start a family, Lenore moved to New Zealand and started Toddler Toes in 2003. Then a few months later, due to high demand, Funky Feet was started. Both have continued to grow and 5 years later they have more than doubled in size, with over 500 students performing in the 2007 concert. Gina Janus Gina started with Toddler Toes and Funky Feet at the beginning of 2006. She is 26 years of age and hails from Canada. Her extensive experience in dance include a Diploma in dance (graduating with Honours) and a degree in dance from the University of Calgary. Gina is experienced in all forms of dance including Jazz, hip hop, tap, modern, funk, contemporary and classical ballet. A professional and accomplished dancer as well as an experienced choreographer and director, she has won numerous awards and scholarships for both her performances and choreography. For the past 5 years she has worked as a freelance instructor for several dance studios in Alberta and BC. (Canadian Provinces). She has worked with students from 3 to 18 as well as Adult beginners, at both recreational and competition level. Gina brings loads of experience, enthusiasm and fun to all her classes at Funky Feet and Toddler Toes. Alicia Chadwick-Cook Alicia started dancing at the age of three. As a child she did R.A.D classical ballet and American Jazz. It wasnt till Alicia got to the majors that she decided that she wanted to dance full time so attended East Auckland Performing Arts. Alicia graduated from EAPA in 2006 with a Diploma of Theatre Arts. In her time there Alicia developed a real passion for the I.S.T.D classical ballet and I.S.I.D modern jazz completing in both syllabi up to advanced 2 level and I.S.T.D tap up to advanced 1. Alicia also developed a real passion for teaching young children so stayed on to do a third and final year at EAPA. She graduated from there with a Diploma of Teachers of Dance in 2007. In that year Alicia also obtained her I.S.T.D modern theatre associate and I.S.T.D classical ballet associate. As well as teaching dance Alicia also works for a performing arts school holiday program and dances part time for the Candylane Dance Company. Chloe Pryor: Chloe is joining the Funky Feet staff in 2011, some of you have already met her, but if you haven’t here is a little about her: She began dancing ballet at the age of five, studying RAD . Continuing through all the RAD ballet grades, when she was 11 she had the privilege of dancing with the Imperial Russian Ballet in their Auckland season of the Nutcracker. At age 9-10 she started ISTD Jazz, and also studied a year of hip hop too. Her first teaching experiences began when she was 15, teaching junior ISTD jazz, now she teaches fun dance classes at the local Church, with a junior and senior class. In her last year of school she choreographed and won her school’s Stage Challenge. She is now completing her major Grades in Jazz and Ballet, and extending her dance training to include lyrical and contemporary styles. She is studying dance at AUT University, and is about to begin her RAD teacher’s course and certification to become a registered RAD ballet teacher, as well as her ISTD modern Associates to become a registered ISTD jazz teacher. Alana Todd: Alana has been dancing her entire life, from ballet lessons at the age of 3 and has now completed the R.A.D ballet graded examination syllabus and also the entire I.S.T.D jazz syllabus, she has also had training in hip hop, cabaret, contemporary and tap. Alana is currently working towards her I.S.T.D teaching qualification for both jazz and ballet and is also studying law at the University of Auckland. During her studies, she has also completed a Bachelor of Commerce. At Funky Feet, Alana has been mostly involved in the I.S.T.D jazz classes, taking extra classes and helping them towards their exams. She is now permanently teaching at Funky Feet on Fridays in 2012 and can’t wait to meet everyone! |
